Tenzin Nyima sits in the Commons Plaza, silently protesting the use of animals for food with a personal hunger strike.
“People may think of it as, ‘This guy is insane,’ or, ‘It’s virtually impossible to do this.’ It’s not. I believe what I am doing is changing the way things are going right now. Slaughtering animals is a very controversial topic as it is already. To have it on campus is completely wrong, it’s completely wrong. I want people to know you’re not alone on this. I am not alone on this. And I am asking people to come together, take action and join in. That is my message — just have some love with animals. They have rights just like us. They just can’t talk to us.”
